Failure should be embraced. The more you fail, the more you have to learn. You should always be trying to win and succeed at what you do, but do not let the sting of failure drag you down too much.
Part of developing yourself and growing into who you’re meant to become is the introduction of risky elements in your life. When you take risks, you will inevitably fail. You fail, and then you analyze what went wrong and how you can apply those lessons to the future.
Admittedly, it hasn’t been until somewhat recently that I fully view failure as a truly constructive and valuable happening in my life.
It’s how you approach that failure and how you handle taking the right risks that will take you to the next level in your life. You should embrace failure because it always gives you a chance to learn.
Why? Because failure is a part of life.
When you push yourself into situations where you are uncomfortable and where the energy is foreign, you truly learn something new about yourself and the world.
The only way you will get through that situation? Adapt or Die.
Now, regardless of the outcome – you did that. You took the risk, you gave it a try, you took your chance, you were The Man In The Arena. Over time, you begin to take bigger and bigger risks, and you also get good at realizing what is a good risk to take and what is just plain stupid.
For each day to be complete you have to do something that scares you, and you have to learn something new.
No matter how small, it all counts.
If it truly scares you, it’s likely a risk.
If you’re scared to do something, you probably should do it.
Some of the best things in life are when we overcome the things that scare us the absolute most. Scared of doing something? Go do it.
When I decided that I wanted to move to Oklahoma, I was scared.
I would be leaving family, friends, and familiarity behind for the great unknown. It was a time to step outside of who I was and push myself to the next level. Leaving my comfort zone is what changed my life.
By the time I arrived in Oklahoma, I was excited.
Now I must say that energy and excitement has gotten me both in and out of good and bad situations since I’ve moved – and each time I stride over another hurdle, the more bold and powerful I feel. Not everything will work, and you really just need One.
There is a feeling as if nothing can stop me.
I feel emboldened to do things I’ve never done before. For example, (of course) part of moving to a new place is not knowing people. Before my move, I’d never gone to a bar alone.
Now let me tell you, doing so has my full endorsement as it may be some of the most fun you will ever have at a bar!
You can speak with whoever the hell you want, you have no obligation to keep up or show off to others, you can choose when to leave, and you will leave feeling more free and confident than ever.
The more things in my life I do that scare me and seem like big, crazy risks turn out to be the most thrilling, fun, and truly worthwhile experiences that I’ve ever had.
If I didn’t have the balls to take action and move – I would literally, figuratively, spiritually, and emotionally NOT be where I am today.
I would be in a place much, much darker. Because of my risks – from moving, to going to bars alone, to a million other small instances of pushing the envelope – the growth I’ve seen is nothing short of astonishing.
I can’t wait to see what’s next. To get where you want to go in life, you must act. Life is meant to be maximized, and time is of the essence.
There is much to do, and not much time to get there. Risk through action is the only way. Make a decision, and act on it.
You may succeed, or you may fail. But at least you made the EFFORT.
You never ever gave up. You showed your resilience.
This is the way.
Keep trying, keep iterating, and learn from it all. .
